About Is It Recordable?

Nathan Braymen

Nathan Braymen, a.k.a. RedBeard
B.S. & M.S. Occupational Safety · Certified in OSHA recordkeeping · Authorized OSHA Outreach trainer

I created isitrecordable.com to take some of the regulatory burden off safety professionals, HR teams and operations managers, so they can focus on what matters.

Some scenarios are real incidents visitors have submitted or that I've seen first-hand. Some are completely fictional. All answers are based on OSHA's recordkeeping regulation (29 CFR Part 1904), its preamble, and OSHA letters of interpretation. The final decision on recordability rests with the employer, but my goal is to give you another perspective and the references you need to make that call with confidence.
